I'm pretty sure dervishes might be nerfed. They are huge tanks in AB's, really good unstoppable forces. I saw one guy with balthazar running around cutting up everyone.
Us luxon still won, but he was a tough dude. Avoided him as much as possible.

SF will probably see more of a recharge time maybe small damage adjustment. Why Mystic Regeneration?? Its one of the few dervish heal skills. And it is an enchant so it can be removed. That alone should be the reason it should never see a nerf.
EDIT - And if you set them up right dervish can be great tanks. But thats why they have the 60 armor req to compensate.

From my experience in Everquest 2 and WoW and the few times I got to talk to devs, the rule is nerf first, buff later if needed. It does piss people off because they don't like being weakened, but devs would rather nerf some skills down to balance with other skills, rather than buff skills to balance and then buff all PVE content. I have no idea if GW dev staff share that philosophy though. It bugs me when a skill I like is weakened, but I guess it is less risky than messing with all the PVE content.

Blinding Surge, Avatar of Grenth, Shadow of Haste, and Spiritual Pain, imo. SF and RaO might take small hits to tweak them slightly.

If you leave skills that are above the balance standard alone, and raise more skills to higher power levels, you then raise the bar of 'balanced' skills. Then when it comes around again, you do the same thing, and the average power of skills increases as more are added. This is called power creep.

Well, what's worse, the power creep, or too much defense (ala Paragons) lengthening matches. I'd say a power creep overall is needed to keep things fresh and moving along.

I don't think you understand. The devs would nerf the defensive skills first if it drew out matches too long. They wouldn't want to buff all offense first because it would widen the disparity between no defense and high defense. Gameplay would hinge on defense indefinitely as the offense would be so powerful it would wipe out any team without high defense very quickly.

the return of Ritual Lord!
AN is probably going to ajust it and rename it to Seared Flamers....
Target spammer and all nearby are struck with Seared Flamers. Any who are spamming when this skill is cast are struck for 7k...9k of stupid damage. Any who are not already spaming begin Spaming W.T.S for 1...6 hours.
or maybe a better function of "Sight Beyond Sight".... why blind a ritualist?0.o

True (as of 2 weeks into Nightfall release, no one wanted to test since then), it's pretty brutal getting hit by a Koss Mighty Blow for 146 at 14 mastery.

ooooooo thanks for the idea Avarre now I can change my secondary and actually use it! YAY! Oh and feathermoore, reason I think they will nerf Mystic Regen is because it nerfs degen, and ANet has a thing for degen.. Above that is the fact that it is easily reapplied, and it is used in well every derv build.. Also Dervs has 70 armor... Why do people seem to think that if it doesn't have zomg tankzors wammo armor.. that it has caster armor?
Seef- could he have possibly hit you with a critical hit? and had a high level of strength? adding to his damage a lil bit? also what class got hit by him?

I thought Anet's intention with Sight Beyond Sight was to facilitate ritualist melee builds. As you know Nightfall introduced into the ritualist primary attribute Sight Beyond Sight, and Spirit's Strength. I'm sure most people have seen the 1 spike killer build, as straightforward and prone to enchantment removal as it is, I'm sure the Anet testers knew that combo before releasing Nightfall.
Plus they added Vocal was Sogolon into restoration.

Unfortunately I find you assesment of the Dervish's tanking abilities to be misplaced.
Dervish can hardly tank anything anymore, except when wearing the forms for 40ish seconds. Note that a smart Dervish will save those Forms for intense combat, which is probably when you'd see it, in the fray.
There's also the posibility that they may have had a monk for backup with dmg reduction spells, or that kills might have been assists.
Now if this guy was running around solo, killing 2-3 people by himself, and suriving against heavy spike assassins and melee-shutdown Mes.
Then only one thing to say. I want their build.

I think mesmers, assassins, ritualists, dervishes and necros are the only enchant removers. I could be wrong though!
I think monks, mesmers and paragons are the only hex removers. Is that true?

LOLOLOL you can't be serious right? PvE wise a dervish setup with Conviction, Mystic Regen, Vital Boon, and Mystic Vigor with an enchant or two, can tank an entire mob of monsters easily, alone, I did that all the way through the RoT. PvP wise, I can tank humans easily, in Randoms I can tank an entire 4 man team with no sweat, and in ABs I can do the same. I can hold even two to three assassins at bay as long as they aren't using any enchant rendings or dazers on me. So don't doubt the derv tank bud. AL=nothing when you think about a derv.
